History

Founded in Detroit, Michigan in 1963, Cadillac has grown to become a leading manufacturer, marketer, and distributor of a comprehensive line of shoe care, foot care, and leather care products.

In 1919, a man named Samuel Kanners entered into the shoe care business walking the streets of Detroit with shoelaces on his back, selling door-to-door to shoe repair shops. Through decades of hard work he was able to build a successful wholesale distributorship that was eventually taken over by his son, Victor, upon his return from the U.S. Army in WWII in the early 1960s.

Victor Kanners, knew that in order to effectively build on the legacy started by his father, he needed to continue providing the highest quality, innovative products, competitive prices, and, of course, an unparalleled commitment to customer service. In 1963, he officially brought all of his products and values under one name – Cadillac Shoe Products.

Today, as in 1963, Cadillac is dedicated to the same philosophies that governed Samuel Kanners’ 1919 quest to build an enduring business that was respected by all. We continue to strive for continuous improvement, both in the innovative products we offer and the services we provide to our valued customers. All Cadillac products are made in small batches, the old-fashioned way, in a family run manufacturing facility in Whitmore Lake, Michigan.
